I recently purchased a pair of KEF LS50 Wireless II speakers, drawn by their sleek design and stellar reviews. Little did I know this decision would lead to an extraordinary adventure, including an all-expenses-paid trip to London and Kent, where my wife and I explored the heart of KEF's operations and experienced cutting-edge audio environments.

Upon purchasing the speakers, I was entered into a contest and, to my surprise, won. The prize included visits to the KEF factory in Maidstone, Kent, the KEF Music Gallery in London, and an exclusive tour of the Dolby Screening Room London Soho.

Our journey began at KEF's factory in Maidstone, Kent, where we were warmly welcomed by Matt, KEF’s European Business Development Manager. His hospitality ensured we felt at home throughout our visit.

The KEF Museum

We started with the KEF Museum, showcasing the evolution of KEF's speakers from the 1960s to today. This exhibit highlighted KEF’s dedication to innovation and excellence in audio engineering.

Research & Development Insights

Next, we toured the Research & Development department, observing how KEF engineers utilize advanced simulation tools to design and test speakers virtually before physical production. This approach underscores KEF's commitment to precision and quality.

Handcrafted Excellence

We then visited the KEF Music Gallery at 42-48 Great Portland Street, London, a 5,000-square-foot flagship store offering an immersive experience for audiophiles and casual listeners alike.

The ground floor features the KEFé, a café where visitors can enjoy beverages while experiencing KEF's audio innovations. The space transforms in the evenings to host immersive music events and live performances.

The Studio: A Professional Recording Space

Adjacent to the café is The Studio, a state-of-the-art recording space designed to minimize background noise, ideal for podcasting, music recording, or private listening sessions.

The Living Room: Home Cinema Experience

Descending to the lower level, we encountered The Living Room, emulating a high-end residential environment. Equipped with a 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos setup, including in-wall speakers, this area allows visitors to experience KEF's products in a setting that mirrors a modern media room.

The Ultimate Experience Room

The pinnacle of our visit was The Ultimate Experience Room, featuring KEF's flagship £180,000 Muon floor-standing speakers. This room is configured for both hi-fi and home cinema experiences, boasting a 9.14.4 Dolby Atmos setup with 14 KEF KC92 subwoofers arranged in two seven-sub arrays. The auditory experience in this space is unparalleled, offering a profound sense of scale, dynamics, and immersion.

A Surprise Visit to Dolby Screening Room London Soho

The icing on the cake was an unexpected visit to the Dolby Screening Room London Soho, located at 4-6 Soho Square. This state-of-the-art facility is renowned for its advanced imaging and immersive audio capabilities, making it a premier venue for film screenings and private events. During our visit, we experienced firsthand the unparalleled sound quality that Dolby is known for, providing an exceptional audiovisual experience.

I changed from the LS 50 Wireless to the Wireless II against my wife’s advice, she loves the II’s and cannot believe how much KEF have improved the speaker.

Avrei voluto dare 5 stelle, il suono di queste kef è per semplice dire realistico, sembra di essere di fronte all’orchestra, l’estetica raggiunge il top con il suo supporto, ma il bluetooth ha una latenza vergognosa, quasi un secondo, quindi per la tv si può solo collegare con hdmi, eppure la versione è la 5.0, ho provato l’assistenza senza risolvere

Some great speakers! I have been using them for several months now and I am extremely satisfied. They look great, but the sound is the icing on the cake. Extremely clear vocals and instrumentals, I've read a lot of reviews and opinions that the bass is weak, but for me it's completely sufficient at this stage. I use them as my main TV speakers and to listen to music via Spotify. Very easy connection, I haven't had any problems! The app works flawlessly and is made very easy to use! I've been using them for PS4 games too, amazing sound quality! I should note that I connected the speakers with the cable because the difference in sound quality between wired and wireless connection is big! Note that any type of device placed near the speakers can affect connectivity. And for everything to be right, I have placed them on their original stands where they look like a whole! These are quite expensive speakers for the country I live in, but I haven't regretted even for a moment the money I spent! Well done KEF!

Use them both to listen to music and with my TV.
Incredibly easy to set up, worked perfectly straight away.
